emperor's meme is much shorter, and looks to have good amusement value. Curious to see what people would write for me. So, write me a personals ad, anonymous entries welcome, I don't log IPs.
And how I see myself sometimes through bitter eyes and worry that other people might see me too:
Affection junkie seeks friendly geeks to boost her ego so she can pretend not to be completely useless. Ability to cope with ridiculous insecurities a bonus.
Mmm - on reflection, that looks too flippant. No angst intended, apologies if any inadvertently caused.
Nevertheless, I do think that what people write in their LJ is to some extent one long personal ad, so a link to a LJ is the ultimate minimal personal ad. I do recognise that for most people this extent is really quite limited - possibly even very limited except for anyone who has ever registered for LJ singles (http://www.livejournal.com/singles/). However, I know I'd glean much more from a LJ than from a personal ad - and yet, in many senses, somehow not nearly enough.
One further strike against the use of a LJ username tag as a personal ad is that there are people who evidently aren't particularly comfortable with making extended LJ entries but who give disproportionately good comment - and vice versa. (No names, no pack drill, but nobody on the intersection of our Friends lists in either case.)
BABY BIRD / Fed up with watersports? Constrained by traditional dominant-submissive roles? Try a more nurturing role: feed me like a baby pelican! Both sexes welcome. I supply the raw herring, you bring the big strap-on beak. No weirdos.
I was trying to do another alliterative one but could only get as far as "gorgeous, generous, goth goddess" or "beautiful bi babe" and they both seemed a bit limiting.
