Oooh, I like post!
Jan. 22nd, 2003 10:54 amIn this morning's post, in 3 batches I found:
1) a parcel left in the bin cupboard: this is my box of nice chocs. I think I'm going to save them for a while.
2) a new credit card from first direct. I applied for it cos Nationwide were taking forever and I wasn't sure they wouldn't turn me down. Now I have 3, since I decided to keep the egg one after all. This seems like overkill really! I think I shall take a while to decide which is most convenient and then cancel the others. Nationwide has the best cashback, 1% for the first 6 months and 0.5% thereafter. First Direct has the nicest card: matte black!
3) my box of books from amazon.fr (first 4 harry potters and TLOTR, all in French): lucky I was late out of the house this morning since I had to sign for it and if I'd been on time I'd have just got a card and had to go chase it up at the depot. Oooh, can't wait to read them :-) (When I've finished King Rat at least, which I'm really getting into now).
Actually I think at this rate I may soon be able to return all the books I've borrowed from Jan: I think I've decided "en attendant Godot" is a bit beyond my capabilities in French for the meantime, might try it again once I've had some practice with my new lighter selection of reading matter.
