ha, you wait 10 weeks for an appointment and then 2 turn up at once

Having finally managed to make an appointment for the relevant endocrinology clinic today I've got home to a letter telling me to come to an appointment in Nuclear Medicine next week, so they can inject me with something radioactive and take pictures to work out where my dodgy parathyroid gland(s) are.

The thing I remember about my thyroid scan was that they gave me a bright yellow capsule with that little red hazardous radioactive waste symbol on it and thinking there was something so strange about medical professionals encouraging me to put that in my mouth.....at least it wasn't black with a skull on it, I guess.

I'm already under instructions to find out which isotope they're using for a curious friend, but I will also look out for radiation warning symbols. :)

Wow, do you get superpowers?

Well, spiderman got spidery superpowers from a radioactive spider. Which I guess means I'll get syringe superpowers from a radioactive syringe. But only very briefly, since the dose is quite small :)
