I seem to detect something of a theme:

• Saturday dinner: roast chicken
• Sunday tea: pasta sauce with leftover roast chicken in it
• Monday lunch: chicken and tomato sandwich, chicken and veg soup: both picked because they were the most appetizing options at the canteen
• Monday tea: chicken and leek pie, wot is in our fridge and needs eating

I clearly wasn't paying attention properly there.

I think that chicken habit of yours is getting out of control. I reccommend going cold turkey.

I've been eating a lot of chicken too, coincidentally, though it pales into insignificance beside the ludicrous quantity of pineapple I seem to have managed to sink in the last week. I was thinking I might try not to eat any pineapple this week, just to see if I could manage it.

Not a project that would prove much of a challenge to most people.

Do you not find your tongue starts getting too tingly if you eat a lot of it?

I wonder if that sensation is bromelain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bromelain) at work. Also, have you seen what pineapple does to cream; I remember it being quite impressive...

That's what I've always assumed. [Edit: and it even mentions the prickly effect under the "other plant proteases" section]. Only seems to happen with fresh pineapple, not tinned.

I've not tried pineapple with cream, because I've always known it's a bad idea.

There's a really impressive curdling reaction that goes on, if I remember. It's been a while, so I more remember the impressiveness than the details.

We roast chicken on Saturday too, the leftovers will probably be chicken curry tomorrow but that's about it for poultry right now.
