In other news the partial scarf in the icon, which was started last weekend, is nearly finished. We're still feeling like hermits, and Mike has a cold, so we're not going to make it to any of today's parties, for which apologies but hope y'all have fun. I think we overdid it last weekend with two in one night. We did get out to give a bunch of clothes to Oxfam today, as well as doing some shopping. Note to anyone who cares, the Oxfam offer for an M&S voucher if you give them a batch of clothes including something from M&S doesn't actually start until Monday. Oh and I just finished Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell and I loved it. Very recommended.

Oh, excellent! The sunset was very good today; I've got a POTD that I need to upload of the early stages, I should have taken one of the later stages. I'll have to see how it comes out.

Yeah, I took the batch with the first four in, sat down and uploaded them, then Mike pointed out it was even more vivid so got up to stick my head out of the window again. Definitely handy having the camera and the computer in the same room as the view, or I'd have never got them.

margo31 pointed out how nice it was as I set out for Tesco's - no camera, alas, so glad you took some. The photos I really wanted to take were looking up at the streetlights on the sliproad down from the A14 junction towards Milton - bright sodium lights against that sky are a winner!

I was finding it really hard to keep the camera steady as I pressed the button, even with my arm braced against the window frame. But at least I got a couple of sharp ones, and some of the slightly shaky ones look nice too.

It certainly sounds like yours would be an interesting shot.

Nope, taken from the back window of our house, looking towards Norfolk Street and East Road. I never yet have actually made it to the winter beerfest, how bad is that?

Not that bad, it's very crowded and too hot, though since it is a beer festival many of the patrons are sufficiently squishy that being accidentally poinged into them as people walk past is not so uncomfortable as it might be.
