Top five singles of 2006
Dec. 7th, 2006 10:53 amBBC 6music are compiling a top 100 singles of 2006 chart, which they intend to count down on New Year's Eve. They're inviting listeners to enter their top 5 (Voting form). They've got a list to remind you of some of them, as well as the five choices of each of the presenters (Bruce Dickinson voting for Breed77 made me smile). Here's mine:
- Regina Spektor - On the radio
- Gogol Bordello - Start wearing purple
- We Are Scientists - Nobody move, nobody get hurt
- The Long Blondes - Once and never again
- The Holloways - Generator
Update: See comments for those that didn't make the top 5, and links to where you can listen to the top 3.

There were probably others too, my notes got too full and I got fussier.
You can listen to We Are Scientists and watch videos too over on www.wearescientists.com. The video for Nobody Move is down the bottom of that page and rather fun. See also Myspace.
I can only find the Long Blondes track I chose on YouTube, though they have others on Myspace and thelongblondes.co.uk.
As for the Holloways: theholloways.tk is all flash but if you have realplayer you can listen to Generator. The webpage has the video too, but I can't get a URL for just that. They have a Myspace page too.
