Well, if I'd done it that way there wouldn't be a way for Simon to express his inability to answer the first but still answer the rest. And it's useful to know that there are people who answer "no" to all of the above but still don't do Gmail themselves, which you wouldn't be able to tell either.

Mostly it's just a side effect of being thrown together quite quickly though, rather than being a carefully thought through survey.
