When feeling excluded because a friend has posted stuff and it's not showing up on your friends list try and remember who's on your default view at the moment before wibbling about it. You may just have excluded *yourself*.

other sources of feeling excluded: someone one has listed as a friend but who hasn't friended one posts something, which shortly thereafter disappears because they meant to post it friends-only but at first failed.

gah. now i feel (yet again) the sense of being deeply unpopular and not really part of the sgo inner circle :-/

*hugs* I dunno if there really is an inner circle or not. To an extent I think I am part of a different little circle that overlaps with what might be considered the SGO one, but it's not that I don't like people who aren't in it, it's just who I see a lot from going out with them and so on. But it really would have been nice to see you yesterday and there's certainly nothing I'm posting that you can't read, if that helps at all.

Perhaps you'd feel like joining us all in the pub tomorrow night, depending on where we end up?

The whole big internet (lj especially, it seems) can be a hotbed for brewing paranoia. If I'm a bit down already I can work myself into a frenzy of paranoid ravings because I've always felt 'excluded' to some extent.

The other side of it all is that sometimes when I'm down and people are all chatty and nice to me it can perk me up quite a bit.

I'm not the biggest fan of the whole friending system; friends-only I understand (but rarely use), but further filtering would mean, I dunno - *grading* my friends? I'm not so comfortable with that idea.
