My mother got burgled ages ago. There was a cactus on the windowsill where they got in, one of the ones that have billions of little spikes that come off in your hand, and it was knocked over with a lot of muddy fingerprints around it and lots of spikes on the floor, and trailed down the hallway. Oh how we laughed as we tidied up.

We've only ever had a near-escape in the burglary area (woke up, heard the bloke outside, saw him with a ladder, shouted, he buggered off), but that was scary and disturbing enough. You must be quite upset.
