First batch of party invites went out. Sorry if you got several copies: some of the bounces I got weren't clear which addresses were affected, so I ended up resending. Twice. Embarrassing. Equally sorry if you've not got an invitation. Space is limited and we couldn't invite everyone we wanted to. This makes it even more important that you RSVP: if you can't make it we can invite someone else, and knowing who definitely can come makes it much easier to keep track of how much space is left.

BRMC review seems a little negative in retrospect: they really were excellent. I wasn't having the best of days which possibly didn't help though. Not really having the best of weeks. Still just sad and tired mostly. And the sad truth is there's no-one I can really talk to about it properly. Either you're Mike, you have your own worries, or I don't feel close enough to you. Not that there's much to say.

Work and life continue anyway. iPod man has a new silly project: http://www.bornonthesameday.co.uk/. And he's promised me a birthday present (up to the value of 50p). Harry Potter arrived, and was devoured last night and earlier this evening. And next week is Whitby to look forward to, looks like we'll be room sharing with David which should be entertaining. Though he doesn't get the top bunk :-P Yeah, stuff. Oh yeah and it turns out there are some people from my High School who also have livejournal. Though they were mostly born after I started there which is a bit disconcerting.

You haven't got an invite (yet) because between us we wanted to invite 165 people to a party which can only fit 100. You're on the list.

No-one has tried to veto anyone, and I'm not sure we would have allowed vetos anyway.

Hi,

I think doseybat already replied saying she wanted to go... I wasn't sure, because it was just before a trip to the States for a week, but did (and do still) want to go, if that would be OK. My vague plan would be to get the 3am(ish) coach straight to Heathrow, which would get me there at roughly the right time to pick up my flight to San Francisco. doseybat would probably be in the market for crash space, unless she decides to foolishly see me off or something.

Please let me know if this is OK by Thursday night if you can, because I'll be doing a moderately strange bit of travelling in order to be able to get there (I'm driving to from London to Manchester on Friday, picking up my mum (and dog) there, then driving to my grandparents in Co. Durham, staying the night, then getting a plane from Newcastle to heathrow in the afternoon -- if I hit all the connections on time, I'd arrive in Cambridge at about 8.20pm), so I'll need to know whether to book the coach or not before I leave on Friday morning.

I've reread that, and realise that my description of my travel plans, whilst completely accurate, makes no sense at all. The simplified version would be, would it be OK for me to come, and if so, I'd be turning up at about 8.20pm and leaving at about 3am. Doseybat also wants to come, and may or may not travel with me, and may or may not want crash space.

It's in a pub basement room - we're hoping they'll make use of their new licence and stay open until 1, but they certainly won't be any later than that. So you're welcome to come along but would have 2 very cold hours to kill...
