Clubbing on a Thursday night. You know it makes no sense whatsoever but somehow after a tequila sunrise in the Maypole and a pint of Landlord in the Mitre it just becomes inevitable. Well done to the lads who spent so much effort flyering us through the window. And well done to whoever thought of having a mashup night at the Soul Tree. And bye bye Beth, you'll be missed but I'm sure you'll keep visiting and I'll look forward to it.

Mashup night? In Cambridge? Wow. Midweek's a bit of a bummer, though. Are they going to run it again?

It's hard to say, I haven't got a copy of the flier and I can't remember the URLS on it. It did have a big "1" after the night's name, which suggested it was a first one but might be repeated, though not likely every week. Will let you know if I hear though.

The first pair of DJs were definitely playing more interesting stuff than the second. Though opening with something which included the oompa loompa song from the first charlie and the cho factory film is a bit funky!

We spent some time listening to DJ Yoda in the Strongbow dance tent at V, waiting for the Chemical Brothers. Mash king, there. Splendid.

Which is a neat link, as I saw you this morning near the Arbury Road shops while I was queuing up Milton Road. And I was listening to the Chemical Brothers at the time. Spooky, huh?

Bastard. We saw him in the Orange tent at Reading last year and he was *astounding*. Caught him playing the Fez Club later last year, and that was good but not as good. Would definitely be up for seeing some more.
