Things I've done

I don't think I can think of 10, but I was talking about this in the pub the other day.

1. Stood on top of the highest mountain in North Africa (Mount Toubkal, in the background in this pic, 14660 feet).
2. Been at Glastonbury festival in three different decades (83, 84, 85, 95, 03, 04).
3. Been at a CND march in a pushchair, aged around 3.
4. Shaken Michael Heseltine's hand and said "pleased to meet you" and later been horrified to realise what I'd done.
5. Had grey hairs at the age of 13.
6. Done the London to Cambridge bike ride on my own.
7. Failed Oxford finals exams, but got my degree the following year.

Maybe I'll add more another time if I think of any. Or perhaps you could suggest some!

I went on a Stop The War march in a pushchair, aged around 2. Does that count?

Must have been the Falklands presumably? But I did specifiy CND on purpose, as I figured protest marches in general was probably likely to be beaten.

I can sort of remember being on marches when I was your age though. They were fun.

I don't remember, but mum and dad used to a) do political demos a lot and b) take me everywhere, so I could check about CND ;)

I've done no.2 - 89, 90, 92, 93, 94, 97, 2000. All under my own steam, not with a parent (as I guess you must have been for the early ones, no?). I also lived in Heseltine's constituency for a long time and I know I've met him although I can't recall shaking hands (but I would have been about 10 or 11).

Given I was all of 7 (going on 8) in 1983 oddly enough I didn't go on my own, no. Perhaps I shall just have to make sure I go next decade and you don't :-)

I don't think your Heseltine counts though, I was fairly specific.

Interesting that you spell it Toubkal; we name our computers after mountains in the office here, and we have a machine called Toupkal. Google suggests we have it very wrong! (Wasn't me who named it, by the way!)
