Oh, good choice.

Bloxed is a tetris clone/variant for the Acorn, which I discovered via a friend at Oxford. It behaves just like tetris at first, but then starts to add special blocks: a bomb, a 10 ton weight, a little gun you can fire. And then if you get far enough it starts to mutate the pieces too, so bits of them are only attached diagonally, making many more shapes some of which are much harder to fit. You can play on for what seems almost indefinitely to me. Becky was at one point the world high scorer.

But what's even more fun (for me) is the multiplayer mode. Where each time you remove more than one row of squares at once they appear on the bottom of screen of the player to your left - with up to three players. Though since they're all around the same keyboard it gets a bit cramped. Very vicious.

I don't at the moment. It does suggest that it will run under some Acorn emulators, but I've never actually tried. Maybe I should!

Ah... I just wasn't sure what the symbol was/if it meant something special... things. Love is a totally sensible and understandable interest...

Of course I could just have "love" as an interest of its own (in fact I do) - using the symbol instead is partly because I like the fact you can express something in one little image, and partly because it's cute, and partly because of the geekiness of using a character which isn't just an ordinary one. All sorts of little things tied in together.

Basically you have a long string in each hand with something on the end: a ball, a streamer, a lit wick if you're good at it and like fire. And you swing them around on the end of the strings in pretty shapes.

Nah. Greenend is a bit of an institution. Initially it was the house on Greenend Road in Cambridge which belonged to timeplease and was shared by him, Richard, Owen, Austin and Dickon. The inhabitants changed over time, but by the time Steve sold it it had long been the domain name which was initially for the house and then borrowed by chiark, and also the people who were involved in the entire social circle. And the SGO has taken on a life of its own. Greenend is gone, long live greenend.

Hmm, now that's a bit harder to explain. It's an Eddie Izzardism. Kind of a parody of the sort of "choose one or the other, you can't have both" sort of questions like say "music or books" maybe. But of course with a rather more obvious "right" answer. Imagine Eddie Izzard parodying someone answering "death, no, no, I meant cake!" and the questioner being mean about taking the first answer but eventually giving in. Perhaps you had to be there.

At one point I had life, the universe and everything as three of my interests. And wine, women and song too. I liked the way they got split up when sorted alphabetically, but the reference was still there. Somehow the universe got lost at some point but I decided to keep everything. To be honest pretty much everything can be interesting from time to time, even if it's just fascinatingly boring.
