Date: 2005-01-20 02:14 pm (UTC)Bloxed is a tetris clone/variant for the Acorn, which I discovered via a friend at Oxford. It behaves just like tetris at first, but then starts to add special blocks: a bomb, a 10 ton weight, a little gun you can fire. And then if you get far enough it starts to mutate the pieces too, so bits of them are only attached diagonally, making many more shapes some of which are much harder to fit. You can play on for what seems almost indefinitely to me. Becky was at one point the world high scorer.
But what's even more fun (for me) is the multiplayer mode. Where each time you remove more than one row of squares at once they appear on the bottom of screen of the player to your left - with up to three players. Though since they're all around the same keyboard it gets a bit cramped. Very vicious.
