Do you find it easy to add up the calories for everything (do you have to carry a calculator around with you)?

The Weight Watchers [TM] system ("Full Choice" in the new terminology) is almost equivalent to calorie counting of this kind, though they also penalise saturated fat; the benefit of their system is that it's easier for mere mortals to calculate because instead of (say) 1500 calories per day you are allowed somewhere in the region of 24 Points, and if you don't want the effort of working out how many Points there are in a particular thing then you just look it up in a big book. Some foods even have the number of Points printed on the packaging.

They don't want you to know this, but Points = Cals/70 + SF/4 (SF being the number of grams of saturated fat) and it's rounded to the nearest half-point.
