Do you actually *read* Phys Rev B? I mean, get a physical issue of it and sit down and read it like a magazine? Most of the journally stuff I read is articles that are immediately relevant to what I'm doing, and ones I find through citation, and I find even that reading load pretty time-consuming.

No, I meant a couple of papers in PRB, plus the contents page regularly over the last week ("is my paper up yet?")

Reading: lj, usenet, latest issue of "Computing" magazine, the Graun, and hopefully later this week the new Jonathan Coe.

Watching: not a great deal, though I did see a rather good cop show on Channel 4 on Thursday night, can't remember the name though

Listening: Gram Parsons, Montrose, Hawkwind, Jethro Tull, the Archers, TMS

Reading? 'The Neutronium Alchemist' (again), New Scientist, The Financial Times Weekend. Will probably read the Grauniad if I take a train into London (still not too late to hit Borders!). John Hull, 'Options, Futures and other Derivatives'. Must re-read Friday although the sense of being 'other' or an outsider is one that I am keen not to cultivate.

Watching: no telly, I get bored very quickly with the mood I'm in. I'll probably Load up the DVD edition of LOTR again.

Listening:

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival: Cosmo's Factory
  • Sheryl Crow: Sheryl Crow
  • U2: The Joshua Tree
