Every time I try sleep either I drown in snot and have to get up and blow my nose, or I get another attack of stomach acid and want to throw up. Got some sleep between around 6 and 8. I guess I can just keep trying each time I get too tired to keep my eyes open again. Comfy chair in the spare room for a bit I think.

Hint from an ex-moustache owner:

If a stuffed nose is stopping you sleeping, try 'Otrivine' from Boots.
Clears your conk, shifts the heavy feeling you get with blocked sinuses, stops the snot.

Hint: get the measures dosage spray, not the drops, and give it a good squirt before you use it, to charge the spray. And the first thing that happens, as your swollen nasal lining goes down to normal size, is that your nose will run like a bathtap. Gross. Then it stays clear for a few hours.

I will, I promise, get a suitable replacement online ID to the retired 'Silicon_Lotus' account. Anonymity is too much like sneaking around.

I'd never heard of him. :-)

But he's a miscreant and came to the last uk.misc.meet, so now I have…

Yes, I've met Janet a couple of times: more of an acqaintance than anything else in real life, though we seem to have exchanged a fair amount of text, mail and Usenet postings. Lost touch a couple of years ago, then I wandered into UK.Misc and found (1) Jan and (2) you're all as loony as she is. Or I am, for that matter.

A case of "I choose my friends only far too well".

A few details, so I'm slightly less the anonymous stalker - Name: Nigel. Location: Enfield. Origing: Leicester. Occupation: banking geek. Pastimes: SF, origami, Ki-Aikido, living vicariously through other peoples' lives and friendships of the web.

Try not to let it bug you. I'm here partly because your journal's entertaining, mostly because this is a very dense node in the human network of the web: your circle of LiveJournal Fiends, the overlapping personal networks of Chiark and he websites assoiated with literate miscreants. All links lead back here!

If 'Otrivine' is Xylometazoline, note that it has drug interactions with some anti-depressants, side effects such as troubled sleeping, blurred vision, dizziness and nervousness, and contraindications with hypertension, glaucoma, and enlarged prostate.

Hmm, I don't thing you need to worry about the last one.
