No idea how it works, but it sure looks pretty, and I now have one in my own blog. And yes, a small donation bumps you up the queue. PayPal is useful like that!

One of the problems is that it's not just a donation of a dollar, which I'd happily part with, it's having to sign up to paypal with their stupid terms of service, sending your card details outside the EU, having to deal with cranky user interfaces, their "interesting" legal position, it falling over and then not letting you back in, and all that kind of thing. That all adds up till "I'll wait" becomes a better option, :).
