On a more frugal note I've decided that for the length of lent I'm going to give up sweet things. Almost no-cal squash and fizzy pop aside. No sweets, biccies, cakes or chocolate basically. I shall no doubt overcompensate with savoury things instead, but we'll see. I think I've had too much of a sweet tooth lately. Poor Richard will just have to consume the rest of the nice chocs himself.

That's essentially what the South Beach diet does. I'm not saying I'm thin, because I isn't, but I did sort of follow it vaguely, and am now following it even more vaguely, and the first two weeks does encourage the pounds to drop off. A colleague at work who also has an apple shapped figure, comme moi, lost about a stone, in the first two weeks, strict stage, then some more in the lightweight stage, and has more or less managed to keep it off.

I'll be going back onto the strict stage when I can summon the tuits. But it's worth a try.

Me. I'm giving up swearing for lent. Only fcukwits swear.

Oddly enough, I find when I eat fewer sweet things (after a delay of a few days) I want fewer sweet things. I guess the sugar rush is addictive :/
