What we did at the weekend
Jun. 13th, 2008 02:32 pmLast weekend we were up north again for two occasions.
On Saturday there was a big family bash to celebrate:
- Grandma and Grandad's Diamond Wedding Anniversay
- Uncle Bob having married Carolyn at New Year in New Zealand
- Bob's son (and hence my cousin) Alistair's engagement to Cath
There was lots of nice food and drink, we decorated the village hall with lots of helium balloons, and there was a ceilidh band and much bad dancing was had by all (although I have to say if it weren't for the Blair clan they'd have had trouble finding enough dancers!). It was really good fun.
And then on Sunday we did this:
That's Mike taxi-ing back from the runway after our flight up to York and back, and me in the passenger seat behind him. It was brilliant, and the weather was just about perfect, so we had fabulous views from 1500 feet, and it was great to look down and be able to point out the minster and the city walls and so on. Fab.

Date: 2008-06-14 09:33 pm (UTC)I think your day was very slightly hazier than ours, though we sadly failed to take a camera up with us!
Em and John (John flying) went off towards the Humber Bridge instead, since they had a different instructor flying with them and they live over that way anyway.

I am highly jealous of your private flight and hope you have many more happy journeys and safe landings!
