Answers to the snowman problem

A security chap in bright yellow coat came up to us and asked us nicely if we could move him, since he'd take a while to melt and he was currently taking up a parking space. So we lifted off his head and rolled the body several feet right and up a kerb before replacing his head again and taking the second shot. So the differences, in order of obviousness are:

• Different companion :-)
• Different hat
• Different location
• Scarf retied
• Head at a slightly different angle
• Body slightly different due to picking up a little extra snow in the move

I hadn't even really noticed the last of those myself! So well done everyone for spotting he'd moved, well done rjk for noticing the scarf as well as the hat, and well done Sion especially for spotting the last two.

If I'd known we were playing Spot the Difference I'd have tried harder. But you originally only asked what was odd about the snowman. Snowmen changing their detailed appearance isn't odd – it happens all the time when they're works in progress. Someone might perfectly sensibly have put one hat on him, decided it didn't look quite right, and put a different one on instead, for instance. And the change of companion wasn't even remotely odd.

The entire snowman moving about was the only thing on that list I'd have counted as actually odd, so I claim I got a perfect score! :-)

You don't think his head being on at a different angle is odd?

(I don't think the companion, hat or scarf are odd either, but I figured I'd included them in this list, since they were things people had noticed were different).

We certainly considered the snowman to be finished in the first photo, and not a work in progress.

The fact he was in a different place *was* the main one obviously, and I was interested to see how obvious that apparently was. Hard to know how much things are blatant when you are in the know in advance, iyswim.
