*please* can I stop coughing now?

Took yesterday off work sick and spent it mostly sleeping and coughing and cleaning the house.

Didn't feel too bad when I woke up today but I just can't seem to make the coughing stop. Sipping cold water, hot squash, fake-lemsip don't work, and nor does the cough syrup. It's a real nuisance - I was hoping to go to a party in Nottingham with Mike but I'm just not well enough. I just want it to stop.

Anaesthetic throat sweets will make it stop long enough for you to do something like cycle somewhere or get to sleep.

That's a good idea actually. I'd run out of cough sweets but I think there are still some dequacaine in the cupboard.

If it would just stop making me sick it wouldn't be so bad. But I really do feel rather pathetic :-)

My cough lasted for many weeks. ): One of the things I was prescribed was a pill that causes some anæsthetising of relevant bits.

Aw no! Anaesthetic definitely a good idea. But don't take too many, otherwise you can't concentrate for ages.
