Well, it's been an odd week. Work has gone well, despite the one morning where I overslept so badly I mananged to hit snooze 10 times and not get up til 10am. We finally got data from the CS as well as from the department about who's expected as a postgrad this year, so we could start spotting errors and anomalies and fixing up the program that correlates the two sets of data to cope with slight changes in format. Looks like everyone has a USN this year, which is making life easier. Outside work I spent an excellent Monday evening having dinner with Mike and then watching Red Dwarf series 5, which was stunning as ever and captivated Richard into joining us as soon as he walked in the door. Yesterday Mike came round again to keep me company while I waited for a Waitrose delivery. Can I just take this opportunity to say Waitrose Columbian Coffee flavoured milk is the best thing ever. Like iced coffee should be but never is.
Today I had off workto wait for a delivery from Argos. It turned up bright and early so I managed to get a lovely long lie in, then put up a shelf in the corner of my room (drills! ooh!), go to Richer Sounds for speaker cable to make the speakers reach far enough, do the appropriate patching of cables with the aid of blutak due to lack of insulting tape, pack clothes up into underbed storage bags, put up two lightshades and generally feel useful. It's definitely getting very much into shape in there. All it needs now is a hook on the back of the door for my dressing gown, some screws in the wall to hang the mirror on, and perhaps some more pictures and a rug. I ♥ my room.
Quiet night in tonight I think. Waitrose greek meze selection and a knitting magazine to read. Wedding tomorrow, bridge on Sunday. Sounds like a nice chilled weekend. Just what I need.

Date: 2005-08-13 12:20 am (UTC)Indirectly you can blame my sick leave in June - that was two weeks we could really have done with not losing.
I think the reason the CS was a bit late with the data feeds is my fault too - Pat was waiting for me to fix something for her and I haven't been able to: there are populations of students missing from our feed to the CS (deferrals, PGCEs etc). I'm hoping that there'll be some quiet time while we're babysitting UCAS transfers on Sunday for me to finally get that fix done.
