Well that explains why last year's Christmas cake was so weird, not only did I drown it in brandy but rather more importantly when copying the recipe out I'd got the line with 2oz self-raising flour but missed out the line with 8oz of plain flour. Doh! Hopefully the one I'm baking this year for New Year will come out rather more like a cake and less like weirdo christmas pud that's trying to be cake shaped.
