I don't think you're alone. When I ran it, it produced <f/x: checks CVS log> four things that I added to my list, but all of them were alternative wordings of things I already had. For completeness I ran it again after doing this, and it produced nothing I particularly felt moved to add.
It would be interesting to be able to do a full Amazon-style match ("based on your full set of interests we have the following recommendations for you"), to see whether the effectiveness differs appreciably from only using the rare interests (which I assume is done so that the process has tractable complexity).
