Funnily enough there isn't much mail or news at this time of the morning. Woke at around 5:50 for some reason, and spent a while struggling to stop coughing - even after I came and sat here with a glass of water. Rjk's alarm will go off in just over an hour, and the tickle is still threatening in the back of my throat, so it seems like it would be silly to try go back to bed now. But I'm tired, since we only went to bed around 1. It seems mad that such a minor ailment should cause so much trouble. I'm not even feeling all that ill anymore, just the tail end of a cold.

Didn't half get a surprise when I looked in the bathroom mirror in the bright morning sunshine though. I always manage to forget that I've been at the hair dye. It looks pretty good by sunlight though, better than it did last night. Will definitely have another go at the roots today.

I'm alive at this time in the morning :(

I woke up at 5.30 and switched on the radio and then overslept until 6.45.

Now I'm late for work but I don't care because I'm still half asleep :)

As I get up at 6 anyway I'm afraid I have no sympathy for that bit.
Re the cough, though: on the train home last night, somebody behind me somewhere was coughing non-stop for about 15 minutes. All kinds of people were doing the raised-eyebrow thing and then the half-grin at whoever was opposite them with a bit of the whatever-next headshake.

Mmmm. A feature of living in the US is, by the time I'm online in the morning, plenty's already happened.
