The thing for me is that it appears to be impossible to take a photo which is recognisably of me and doesn't look horrid. There are horrid photos of other people, yes, but there are also good photos of them.
I tend to have one of two reactions to photos of me: (a) "that looks horrid, and nothing like me", or (b) "that looks OK, but nothing like me". Usually (a).
