I've read pretty much all of the Chalet School books; I thoroughly loved them as a child. I picked up my first words of German from them! I was highly amused to discover that "Elinor M. Brent-Dyer" was a man...!
The only Noel Streatfield books I've read were the Ballet Shoes series. They were quite sweet in a very Middle England sort of way.
