Bloody hell
Sep. 5th, 2003 02:28 pmBy some miracle it actually arrived. Box slightly battered, polystyrene inside it all rather busted up too, but TV itself all in one piece and not even scratched. Managed to manhandle it out of box and onto coffee table while I got it wired up, and then shifted it into place once that was done. DVD player connected, and it all seems to work. Channel 5 reception is appalling, but then it always seems to be round here, and who cares when I expect we won't watch it much anyway. It all looks rather snazzy really. And the standby light on the DVD player is a blue LED instead of a red one :-)

Date: 2003-09-05 10:13 am (UTC)That's because I've taken your bad delivery luck away from you, it seems. I stayed at home today waiting for my shiny MP3 car stereo, and at lunchtime the company rang me up to say there apparently isn't a single one of the things in the UK and there might be some at the end of the month. This is in spite of the four identical mails I got from them yesterday assuring me that the wretched thing had physically left their premises; apparently these mails were simply lies, and the stereo was never on their premises in the first place - they expected the manufacturer to ship it direct to me, and the manufacturer made a ghastly balls-up of doom in some unspecified manner.
So, yes. Um. I'm glad to hear that one of us got the tech-toy we were expecting today!
