Now that is a bit of a change. Will take me a while to get used to it I'm sure.

Gosh, yes. But I bet it's lovely and cool! (I did something similar about five years ago, you get used to it pretty quickly...)

So did I, once upon a time. And kept my hair that short for about two years. The bestest thing about it was the way I could change the colour *completely* all the time without ending up with messed up ends like I have now.

A number 3 was my favoured hairstyle from about 1989 to 1997 - one of the reasons being ease of style, another being the ability to change the colour if I wanted. Then when I married I decided to grow it and that was okay too, but having hennaed it and coloured it the condition was dreadful.

I cut it last April.

It's grown a bit since then...

That really suits you -- your hair behaves better than mine when short :)

It doesn't for long! And now it's almost shoulder length it's misbehaving a lot again.

And it looks great.
Different, but I really like it.

LNR, it's great! It looks lovely, it really does. You picked the right time of year for it, too - ask August about getting your hair cut /after/ your face and neck have got a tan!

Oh, I'm all tempted, again.

Rapunzel peers over my shoulder and opines "that's quite short, then"...

And of course, the thing about experimenting at this length is that if you don't like a colour - or the length, for that matter - it'll grow out really quickly.

That looks really quite practical for the summer - remember to watch out you don't get sunburn on your scalp though! My hair was that short part of last year, but stood on end in a most ridiculous way, so I've given up on that :)

Why not go all the way ;-?

1mm works. (For me, that is, but I'm not too eager about hair in general.)

What is "grade 3" in millimeters (or something else `units` can translate)?
I get sunburns far too easily myself, but the relatively dark hair seems to protect the skin on the head nonetheless (I have a sunburn in the face right now, but nothing on the skalp)

Well, 1 cm's not what I'd call "short" on myself ;)

Just look at the userpic that's going with this reply.
With straightening out the curls the hair did reach below my navel...

A "number N" guard on a set of clippers is nominally N/8 inch, so a number 3 is 3/8 inch, or 9.5mm, or "about 1cm". :-)

HAH. Calling me dykey, eh? Eh?
Kewl!

I know I said this earlier IRL but it looks fab! I think even shorter would probably look good too (though I guess I am biased...) but then I don't think there's anything wrong with looking dykey. ;-)

Looks great - got some more photos so that we remote like types can get the full picture?
