Quiet time

Pleasant quiet day yesterday, if spent mostly asleep. Another similar today, though I intend to try spend more of it awake.

Dunno what rjk's plans are for this evening, which always makes it faffy to make plans for myself. If anyone fancies being sociable though they're welcome to drop round, and I can probably manage to feed people too. rjk may or may not be around.

And indeed it appears I have the evening in to myself and am wondering what to do. I'd ring Jan but I always feel like I'm likely to interrupt something, especially given she's busy looking after Sion ATM. I think that's why I tend to text or mail people rather than ringing them: that way if they're busy they can reply in their own time. Doesn't work so well when they're just pottering and would be happy to do something but just happen to not check their mail or their phone though. It's partly just me being completely awkward with phoning people at all too: really must get over that some time. Ought to phone my parents too, but to be honest I just don't actually want to talk to them right now.

Finished Persuasion which is still think is awfully sweet. Ought to finish King Rat next. Then it's probably the latest Ken Macleod, though I'll probably re-read the previous two in the trilogy first. Can't seem to work up much enthusiasm for any of them though, despite knowing I'll enjoy them once I get into them. Maybe the Philip Pullman I got for Christmas from Jan will be easier going to get started on.
