About eighteen months ago we were looking into possibly buying a house and we decided to ask HSBC for a mortgage quote. Just arranging the appointment for that was a complete screaming nightmare because we couldn't phone the local branch directly and the call centre kept failing to pass the information back and forth. So you have my heartfelt sympathy.
