14.43 miles in 1 hour 15 seconds. In 24 degrees C. When still recovering from a cold.

I feel a bit rough now, but rather better for having had a nice cold drink and a shower. I did enjoy the ride though, but it's just as well I didn't pick a longer route! I think I'm going to go find something to eat now and then spend the afternoon curled up with a book going zog.

Oh and there are too many thunderbugs out there today and they are horrid. Ick.

Hmm, I fear I may have given myself a minor case of sun/heatstroke, since despite drinking lots to ward off dehydration I'm feeling slightly headachy and have been all evening. Oh well, hopefully I'll feel better in the morning.

Currently reading the first of Tad Williams' Otherland series and finding it rather odd, but interesting. If I even try and compare the writing to Memory, Sorrow and Thorn though (his big fantasy series I first read as a teenager) my head tries to explode. I'm not used to someone writing big trash fantasy and also writing cyberpunkish SF. Weird. I'm curious to see how they turn out, but think I'll enjoy them. And I have the new Alastair Reynolds to look forward to once they're finished, as I'd be very surprised if Richard hasn't finished it but then, given I've still got nearly 4 bricklike things to work my way through to his one.
