Need to stop distracting self. No more LJ from work, comment emails are being automatically moved to a different folder so I won't see them any more unless I go look. No more irc from work. Will try shift news-reading to sfere as well. No more online computer games. If I want a five minute break I have a book. If you really want to contact me home and work email addresses and mobile number are in memories.

Date: 2003-11-20 10:49 am (UTC)Overall, I think it was a good thing for my boss to give be a very blunt warning about the amount of time I was wasting on the 'net at work. Since then, I have found that I do actually still enjoy my job, which in turn has had generally beneficial effects my mood the rest of the time. Hardly surprising really, it can't be healthy to spend a third of the day just filling time while feeling stressed about what you know you should be doing.
I pretty much totally stopped for a couple of weeks, then slowly let myself have a little contact with the outside world again. My LJ use during the day is creeping back up, and I probably should try to ration it a bit more. Avoiding IRC seems to be vital, it distracts like nothing else.
