Alternative recipe

Chop bacon, drain beans, add to oven proof pan with water, herbs and garlic. Simmer for about 1 hour.

Fail to turn gas down enough or keep adequate eye on it. Burn to utter inedibility, incidentally making house smell of burnt. Throw away.

Resolve to roast duck legs instead.

Go curl up in bed with book to attempt to stop feeling so fed up.

Duck's dead overated, anyway, chuck. Make a cheese and ham omlette instead.

*sympathy* It's a PITA when things like that happen, isn't it?

Still, roast rjkduck legs will be lovely anyway.

Argh. Been there. Frequently. But roast duck sounds good, it is Sunday after all!

at least you threw yours away. I have a tendency to add more water and claim 'it's meant to taste like that' *sigh*

Better luck next time :-)

Oh, no! I did that in Andrew's flat once, it smelled terrible. I'm never frying duck again either.
