Family weekend!
Mum and dad came down on Thursday evening, and met me after work. We've had a lovely weekend:
Thursday: takeaway curry from the Zara
Friday: potter round Botanics for me, mum and dad, then after school take Matthew to library and park
Saturday: Wimpole Hall for all of us :)
Sunday: birthday! Presents, trip to clip and climb, birthday tea.
And on Monday as I was on strike and Mike wasn't at work I decided to skip the picket lines for once and we headed out on the bikes to Fowlmere, where we were serenaded by wrens and chiffchaffs and saw a mixed bunch of deer including some white ones (across a field, in the distance). We cycled a long way back over Chapel Hill (the shallow way) and I made it without collapsing in a heap, and we got back to school in time to pick up Matthew together :)
Today I have as a result gone flop, and done very little indeed. I'm going to try and join the pickets tomorrow, because I feel guilty for not being there. I'll be at West Cambridge anyway, if anyone wants to come and say hello.
It has been a lovely lovely weekend, and I'm so glad we all tested negative before it, so we could do it with a bit more peace of mind! It was still a *lot* more time indoors with other people than we've spent in a long time. I think we're a bit out of practice at being sociable :)
