It won't work.

Got an SMS from Andrew on Tuesday night (with a strange icon) that won't view and won't delete (any attempt to do so freezes up the phone) and since then new text messages aren't getting through. Have contacted Siemens to see if they can offer any advice.

Til then call me or mail me.

Bugger. Can you manage the text messages remotely on a PC and bypass the phone UI, or is it not that flashy?

Oh, just that some newer phones come with a CD and some form of data connectivity (USB cable, Bluetooth, IR: my crock-of-crap 3G phone came with all three). You can install client software on the PC and then manage the address book, calendar, text messages etc., and often sync them with outlook too. Because they talk under the bonnet, if the problem's because the text is screwing with the phone's UI, you might work around it. If the problem's that something's trashed your SIM card, you're still stuffed of course.

What happens when you put that SIM card into someone else's phone?
