In some areas, C5 is very close to the channel that used to be default for VCRs (28 and 29 or something?). The fix was to retune the VCR to some other channel for output (and then tell your telly about it). Local telly wizzkid req'd if that is the prob. L's folks' VCR outputs on fiftysomething, I was surprised, I thought they all did 28 (or29) or 35. But then I never had to worry about it, it all worked where I lived.
